  • Which collective labor agreement applies to temporary workers?

    Employment agency 4 Minutes uses the NBBU collective labor agreement without temporary employment clause. The entire collective labor agreement can be viewed via this link: NBBU collective labor agreement for temporary workers | NBBU

  • What about the contracts?

    The NBBU Collective Labor Agreement applies the following for contracts:

    • Phase 1-2 without temporary employment clause is the first contract you receive and is for a duration of 52 weeks.  First contract lasts 7 months in phase 1-2. Second contract in phase 1-2 is 5 months.
    • Phase 3 lasts a maximum of 3 years or 6 contracts. This means, for example, that you can receive six six-month contracts. But it can also be, for example, 6 times a one-year contract.
    • Phase 4 is a contract for an indefinite period (permanent contract).
  • How does special leave work?

    As a temporary worker you are entitled to special leave in the following situations:

    You receive 1 day at:

    • Betrothal
    • Marriage or registered partnership of (grand)child, brother, sister or parents
    • 12,5, 25 and 40 years of marriage
    • 25, 40 years of employment
    • 25-, 40-, 50-, 60-, and 70-year marriage of parents and grandparents
    • Taking a (subject) exam to obtain a recognized diploma

    You receive 2 days at:

    • Your own marriage or registered partnership

    In the event of the death of your partner or child, you are entitled to special leave from the day of death up to and including the day of the funeral. In the event of the death of a brother, sister, parents, grandparents or grandchild, you are entitled to one day plus attendance at the funeral. There is an exception if you are responsible for arranging the funeral. You are then entitled to special leave from the day of death up to and including the day of the funeral.

  • How does the public holiday allowance work?

    According to the NBBU collective labor agreement, the following days are public holidays, unless they fall on Saturday or Sunday:

    • New Year's Day;
    • Royal day;
    • May 5 in a lustrum year;
    • Easter Monday;
    • Whit Monday;
    • Ascension Day;
    • Both Christmases.

    You receive a public holiday allowance if you do not work on a public holiday. The public holiday allowance is calculated as follows:

    • In a period of thirteen consecutive weeks immediately preceding the relevant holiday, you have worked at least seven times on the relevant day per week. You will be paid the average number of hours on the relevant day in this period as a public holiday allowance.
    • If you work for less than thirteen weeks, a different calculation is used. If you have worked more than half of the number of weeks worked on the relevant day of the week, you will receive a public holiday allowance for the average number of hours on that day in this period.
  • When will my salary be paid?

    Every Thursday we pay your salary based on the hours worked and/or holiday hours from the week before. For example:

    • In week 1 you worked 38 hours. Then you will receive payment on Thursday in week 2 for the hours worked in week 1.
    • In week 1 you are on holiday and you have requested 38 holiday hours. On Thursday in week 2 you will receive a payment of 38 holiday hours.

    If something is incorrect on your pay slip, please contact your 4 Minutes contact person. A subsequent payment is always made on Friday for any corrections.

  • How do I read the pay slip?

    On your pay slip you can see the hours worked and the gross hourly wage. Are you entitled to allowances? Then you will see Surcharge hours with the surcharge percentage. There are a number of statutory deductions such as the StiPP premium (this is for your pension) and withheld payroll tax. These amounts are deducted from your gross salary.

    You will then see 'Amount to be paid out' and that is the net amount that you will receive in your account.

    You will also see a table with vacation days and holiday pay. In the table you can see what your old balance is, what you have accrued in the relevant week and what your balance will be subsequently. If you have taken vacation days, you will also see this in the table under Take.

  • What are vacation days?

    You accrue vacation days based on the hours worked. For every hour you work, you build up 10,92% in balance for vacation days.

    You can pay out the vacation days when, for example, you have a day off or are on vacation.

  • What is holiday pay and when will I receive it?

    Holiday pay, also called holiday allowance, can be seen as an automatic savings account. You are entitled to 8,33% of the actual salary;

    • The days worked;
    • vacation days;
    • public holidays;
    • days on which the temporary worker is incapacitated for work.

    The holiday allowance is paid in the month of May or no later than the first week of June.
